This project explores the relationship between viewer and subtitles within foreign film and television, with an emphasis on the file format (SRT) i.e. the raw form of the film. The printed text describes speech as well as duration, and at times events such as music or ambient noise within the film. This creates a new watching experience, with subtitles delivered at the exact moment they would appear on the screen. The separate deliverance emphasises the beauty of the scripts so easily taken for granted; by removing any visual accompaniment we see it in a new light.
